the worst songs from the 1980s
who was in the film st elmos

Very bad music from the 1980’s we had a lot. I was an adult in the 1980’s, driving back and forth to work. Back in those days, we had just AM and FM radio and a cassette player or an 8-track player. There were stations for all genres of music. There were rock and pop stations and, of course, country, with a variety of other sounds out there.

Great music from the 80’s Michael Jackson’s Triller

I was working and living in Virginia Beach, Virginia. In the 1980’s, granted was a glorious time. There was some amazing music. We had Michael Jackson’s Thriller with all the hits from that album. Which was massively huge, with lots of airplay. Some artists that had very good comeback records, like the band Yes with Owner of A Lonely Heart, released in 1983

a-ha had a fun hit in 1985

Which was played a lot on the radio as well. As did The Steve Miller Band’s Abracadabra released in 1982; as were songs from Van Halen’s 1984 album, also titled 1984; I didn’t mind hearing these songs over and over on the radio. Oh, I liked Take Me On by the Norwegian band a-ha, which was very good and was all over the radio. I enjoyed that one, and it was a very good music video. I wasn’t a big fan of Lionel Richie’s solo work, but it was okay. It was tolerable.

Now what have you been waiting for? A song from that era, and precisely from 1985, was, in my opinion, one of the worst songs ever released in the 1980’s. The British singer John Parr’s St. Elmo’s Fire (Man in Motion), which was the theme song from the coming-of-age 1985 film St. Elmo’s Fire,. Rob Lowe, Demi Moore, Emilio Estevez, Judd Nelson, and others. It was a very good film and did very well at the box office. However.

No Sirius XM or Spotify

The song got a massive amount of radio airplay. It was on the radio constantly. I could not escape it. I had no where to turn or where to run. In 1985, I had no cell phone. There was no Sirius XM radio or Spotify to run to. I was driving a new 1984 Honda Prelude with AM and FM and, thank God, a cassette player to bail me out. St. Elmos Fire(The Man In Motion) the worst.

St. Elmo’s Fire (The Man In Motion) reached number 1

I was looking at the Billboard charts for this song’s chart history. All things considered a ridiculous amount of airplay all in all. This song would reach the Billboard Hot 100 at number. It hit that position on September 7, 1985; Ahead of Huey Lewis and The Power of Love. A song from another film Robert Zemeckkis Back to the Future. Interesting enough, this song was written by John Parr and David Foster and produced by David Foster. They were both contracted to write a song for the film. This song was created and edited within 24 hours. St. Elmo’s Fire (The Man In Motion) did earn a Grammy nomination.

Released in the summer of 1985

Some people may think the song is great. In my case, in 1985, the summer of that year, after listening to it over and over and over again day after day, It was just very bland, repetitive, and stale. There were times. I couldn’t change the station fast enough. In some cases, I just wouldn’t have the radio on at all. Regardless, I pulled the song up on Spotify recently and am tired of listening to it. I just could not get through it. I have two other songs that were horrible from the 1980’s.

St. Elmo’s Fire (The Man in Motion) brings back very fond memories of that time 40 years ago. In the summer of 1985, I was living in my first apartment. I was 23 years old, and it was a good time. I will tell you when I hear certain songs, and maybe you will too, whether they are good or bad. The memories are always theirs, regardless. I have two more songs from the 1980’s that were the worst. They will be coming soon.
